Carrie Wakeford has facilitated learning and career development for over 25 years.  She has managed projects and training organizations, designed and facilitated training programs and worked with individual clients on résumé development and interview preparation.

12 years ago Carrie launched Wakeford & Associates so she could focus on designing, developing and facilitating online and instructor-led training programs for companies while continuing to assist individual clients with their careers.

Carrie is also the project manager, WordPress trainer and blogger with the web design company Black Cap Design. She has written 100+ blog posts as well as social media posts. 

Carrie is a member of the Career Professionals of Canada Advisory Board and volunteers as their website content evaluator.  She was the winner of the 2013 Executive Director’s Award. 

As Director of Member Communications with the Women’s Business Network of Peterborough Carrie was responsible for moving their newsletter online.  In that role she created 100+ e-newsletters and numerous surveys and polls using Constant Contact, achieving an open rate of 56% – 18% higher than the average.

Carrie is a graduate of Trent University and Fleming College. She was one of the early adopters of online training completing courses in “Designing and Authoring Online Training” and “Managing Online Courses using Moodle”. She has a certificate in “Profiling Occupational Essential Skills” and has training in “Integrating Workplace Essential Skills into Curricula”.  Carrie is also trained in “Alternative Dispute and Conflict Resolution”.

When she is not at her computer, Carrie can be found in her canoe, camping with her husband and their adventure loving Border Collie.
